My rating: 3 of 5 stars

As usual, with books oriented toward a feminine audience, I ask my wife to lead the review. The following are her thoughts on the title…

This book is packed full of fun and creative activities and ideas that are designed to boost creativity, activity, and friendship in the day and life of teen girls. In this book, ideas are shared which inspire teen girls to tap into their creative side and explore all the possibilities that are found there. To help the creative process along, this book shares DIY activities, contests, games, fashion advice, recipes, shows, exercise advice, and how to make a quick buck. The focus of this book is to embrace ones uniqueness through fun and creatives activities for one to do on their own or with their best friend or with a group of friends.

This book also impresses the importance of friendship and how to invest in one’s friends through having fun together and making memories that will last a lifetime. Some of the other areas in which this book highlights is: how to help others (such as becoming a volunteer or taking classes such as CPR training to learn how to help people even in hard situations), how to foster a heart of gratitude, how to be a positive thinker, and how to encourage others.

Overall, this book shares some really great ideas and advice that will keep teen girls positive and having fun. A downside, however, is that this book does promote consumerism, the use of makeup as a way to make one beautiful, and lacks sharing the importance of modesty. This book is for tweens and teens ages 12-17.

I give this book 3 out of 5 for its great ideas but unfortunate promotion of vanity.
