“The Berenstain Bears Book of Prayers” by Mike Berenstain

The Berenstain Bears Book of PrayersThe Berenstain Bears Book of Prayers by Mike Berenstain
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is a board book. This is great because it means my munchkin won’t easily eat all the pages. Each page has wonderful Berenstain Bears artwork, showing the Bear family as they journey throughout the day.

Each part of the day includes clear Christian prayers that not only help the reader learn to pray throughout the day, but also teaches them valuable life lessons, such as managing anger appropriately and learning how to handle being emotionally hurt.

The content is short and sweet, easy for children to follow and use either as a quick story to read or as a prayer book to reference until they get older. The prayers have rhyming mechanisms to help the children remember the prayers. The only issue I have with the prayers is that none of them follow any traditional style, either evangelical, orthodox, or Jewish. Overall, my youngest loves the book and calls it his “Bear Family Book.” Not yet at reading age at the time of this review, he makes up stories based on the pictures to tell a story of the Bear Family and their busy day.

This book is one of quality – build, design, story, and drawings. Great for youngsters who feel with their mouth, this board book design should last longer that most other non-board books out there.
