For this book, I sought my wife’s thoughts on the book, so she took to reading the story to a group of children to get feedback. This is the summary of that experience.
When it comes to Christian Bibles, it seems that there is a difficult struggle between marketing for a specific age or purpose and balancing the “Bible-ness” of the product. In the case of this kids Bible, the book is a hardback book with a squishy front cover. One is welcomed with traditional Precious Moments artwork adorning the front of the Bible.
In this book, the author takes to tell the tale of Gertie Reece Foy, a fifth-grader who is as tenacious as one could be, or as her father would say, “she was a bulldog with its jaws locked on a car tire.”
