Procrastination: The Ultimate Guide For Boosting Your Productivity, Mastering Your Habits and Reconquering Your Life Now: by Luc Grand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I try to be a good reviewer and be responsive. I really do. This is one of those times I failed, and the irony of the topic of this book is not lost on me. Luc Grand asked me to review this book back in January 2018. It’s now November 2019 and I’m writing this review. Yikes. So here I am, now, reviewing the book. Better late than never, I guess.
Luc’s book is organized well and designed with a procrastinator in mind. It’s a short and simple read, only five chapters long: (i) scientific reasons why people procrastinate, (ii) practical tips to avoid procrastinating, (iii) increase your productivity, (iv) the 5-second rule to destroy procrastination, and (v) seven ways to master your habits that lead to procrastination. Then there’s the conclusion, so I guess it’s six chapters, technically-speaking.
The book opens with a short intro that really does get the root of the problem. The author’s voice is engaging and relational, feeling more like sitting in the lecture of a popular motivational speaker. You get the feeling of excitement and being “pumped up” from reading the book. It’s short and sweet which helps make the experience all the better.
Overall, the book doesn’t feel like a cold manual. Rather, it’s a dialogue, much like an appointment with a life coach who is preparing you for success. It’s a fun read with solid advice, but the book won’t fix your procrastination. It will educate you and prepare you, but only you alone can tackle your worst habits and overcome them.
Are you game?
